The number of uninsured continues to grow. Though many uninsured have jobs or have spouses with jobs, they simply cannot afford the coverage. That means the thousands of uninsured people in Central Texas who have such treatable, controllable health conditions have no primary care doctor to follow them and no medication program to maintain their health. This leaves them at risk for much more serious health problems, jeopardizing their attendance at work or school and ultimately, their contribution to their family and their community.
